I’m Nancy Prince and I welcome you to my blog!
My perspective on Bengaldom is colored by my experience. Professionally I am a technical writer and editor with 35 years of experience. However in my “spare time” I’ve been breeding Bengal Cats for 13 years (PrinceRoyal Bengals). I’ve been very involved with The International Bengal Cat Society, Inc. (TIBCS), the only Bengal organzation that was founded by Jean Mill and is a non-profit dedicated to good breeders and great cats. In TIBCS I’ve been President from 2007-2008 and RC Secretary in 2003-2004 and 2009-2010. I am now serving as Senior Vice President.
I have also written numerous articles about the Bengal cat, both for my own pet buyers and for The Bengal Bulletin (TIBCS’s magazine) as well as being editor a few times.
So! Based on that background, I’ll be sharing some thoughts about the Bengal breed and the breeders who are building it. You may think I’m wrong, you may think I’m right, you may think I’m crazy, you may think I have too much time on my hands! But the goal is for me to think and you to think… And if you post back maybe I’ll learn something too!
As to what I might write about next, I’m not sure…that’s the nature of a blog. I have a list as long as a Bengal’s tail of possible topics, and I’ll probably be writing mostly from that, but anything that comes my way about Bengals may get attention. Topics will include Bengal behavior, appearance, ethics, sales, veterinary costs and care, shows, and things that come up in contemplation of the standards list, to name just a few! Most of my posts will contain some facts (research, numbers, authorities cited, etc.) which I partly base my thoughts on. But who knows?
Excellent first blog post Nancy :-)!
Nan, I’m really looking forward to your insights and loving the pics too!!!
This was fascinating — I enjoyed it VERY much. Hard to believe that the original Leopardy is now 12 years old!
Bonjour Nancy,
